Located at around 2,100 meters above sea level, the Brunet Cabin (also known as the Marcel Brunet Cabin) is about a three-hour hike from the village of Lourtier. Open from early December to late April and early June to early October, it's also accessible by car in summer—an ideal base for exploring the region.

Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the caretaker, Jean-Marc Corthay, who goes above and beyond to create a timeless experience. He delights guests with his local culinary specialties and shares his deep knowledge of the surrounding mountains, wildlife, and flora. This cozy and typical refuge offers dormitory accommodation with dinner and breakfast included.

Historically, the Brunet Cabin was built in 1930 in memory of Marcel Brunet, former president of the Geneva Mountain Federation. After being destroyed by an avalanche in 1937, it was rebuilt in 1942 on the Sery alpine pasture. Since 1982, it has belonged to the commune of Bagnes.

New owners reopened it in 2019 with a slightly more "refined" atmosphere. Initially, overnight stays were discontinued and the menu became more upscale. However, since 2022, the menu returned to more traditional offerings—soups, salads, and platters—and overnight stays are again available with advance reservation
